From the warehouses and canal boat parties of London to Ōtautahi - Morning People presents Joel Williams (NZ/UK).
Originally from Ōtautahi, we’re pleased as punch to have lured Joel Williams to play Morning People before he heads home to London. A part of the outdoor music scene in Aotearoa for many years before he relocated to the UK, he played minimal and techno under his own name, and as Minimal Wage with Ōtautahi’s own Bomb Dylan.
Joel grew up listening to his dad’s vast alternative music collection and settled on punk and post punk - think Magazine, The Cure, The Smiths). In his early 20s a friend introduced him to electronic music at an outdoor party and he never looked back.
He currently resides in London DJing regularly in warehouses, canal boats and pop up club nights around the city.
